Become a site for 2015

Small Business is Everybody’s Business

The Rural Pathways to Prosperity Conference on April 17, 2015 will help you and other leaders in your community motivate, support and grow your entrepreneurial and small business ecosystem.

You are invited to be a host and engage businesses, people and leaders in finding solutions that work in your community. This conference is being organized by WSU Extension and many partners (listed on the Partners page). visit the Front Page to see how last year’s conference made a difference in rural communities across Washington.

The conference format is a little unusual in that there will be multiple sites across the state that will host local communities and conversations. We will all watch an engaging keynote presentation from a video broadcast and then the remote site partners will host activities that will lead to solutions. The attached information flyer that describes the format in more detail and highlights some of the positive responses and outcomes from our first event; we had 274 participants at 11 locations!

Would you and your organization be interested in being a host site next spring? If so, I can provide more information and connect you with other members of our planning team to answer any questions.

The Planning Team will take care of the following:
– Designing the agenda
– Finding an engaging speaker
– Developing an interactive action-planning day
– Create a post-conference follow-up process
– Provide training and all materials necessary for you to do your tasks below

As a Host Site we ask you to:
– Secure a location and caterer
– Find local experts to participate in the conversations
– Promote it to your local media and contacts
– Facilitate the day or finding someone to assist

Thanks for the consideration; I hope you will join us next spring. Email Debra Hansen debra.Hansen@wsu.edu for more information.
